La Garçonne store Solveig Fernlund

La Garçonne is a ready-to-wear boutique located in the TriBeCa district of New York. This boutique presents the modern and unisex collections of emerging designers. The architect Solveig Fernlund was entrusted with the interior design of La Garçonne. Kris and Solveig saw the store more as a residential project than a retail one. The very minimalist interior with chalk-colored walls enhances every detail.

Upon entering the store, visitors are greeted by a coconut fiber rug. All the racks, table and stools were designed by Solveig, custom designed in solid Douglas fir by a local NYC craftsman. The counter is made from marine plywood, and the stools are signed Alvar Aalto.
