Wood characteristics: White, greyish, pale brown to reddish wood. Usually straight thread. Fine and regular grain, but often fluffy or hazy. Homogeneous structure. Sapwood sometimes being confused with the perfect wood.

Mechanical properties: Good mechanical resistance, in particular in bending and impact. Adherent, not very fissile.

Technological properties: Sawing and complex machining. Sanding is delicate, as is varnishing. But the wood most suitable for nailing and stapling. Easy to paste, tint or paint.
