Cooperage Collection Fort Standard

Cooperage is a collection of furniture designed by the Brooklyn studio, Fort Standard. Composed of a rectangular dining table, a round dining table, stools and a chair, this collection is very strong graphically speaking. Each piece is crafted from large faceted elements, referring to the making of barrels and barrels by the cooper and thus inspiring the name of the collection - cooperage in English means cooperage.

Although the stripes are very contrasting, each piece is crafted from a single species of white oak. The darker facets then undergo a roasting process, in which the wood is exposed to a very high temperature but deprived of oxygen to brown instead of burning.

The alternation of stripes then becomes as interesting for its aesthetics as for its technique.
