The Beldi Chan & Eayrs

Chan & Eayrs is an agency of a new kind: without client, without order, without deadline. Zoe and Merlin, its founders, then decided to take charge of all the phases of a project ranging from the choice of the site, to the redesign of the space, to the layout, to the selection of decorative works. .

“We create homes with our mind, our hands and our soul.”

The Beldi is a former 19th century shoe factory in the heart of London's Shoreditch district. Within this space, an element of identity emerged when the project was taken over. The view of the treetops of Saint-Léonard church inspired a palette of greens throughout the apartment ranging from fennel, avocado, to olive, inviting nature to enter.

All of their projects are the result of a very personal creative process, inspired by their origins - Zoe is of Chinese origin and Merlin is English - and their travels. White enamelled bejmat zelliges have been placed in the kitchen creating a unique texture while on the walls, lime plaster and limed oak coexist in a very natural way.

We also draw our attention to the antique or more contemporary pieces that furnish The Beldi, combining travel souvenirs and English crafts such as the Plank bench in Douglas fir by Sue Skeen for The New Craftsmen, or the oak lounge chair by Poul Kjaerholm & Jørgen Høj.
