Californian residence Rudolph Schindler Architect

This house was built in California by the Viennese architect Rudolph Schindler. Typical architecture of the 50s and surrounded by trees, the structure is relatively open and benefits from large bay windows making it a very bright living space.

In 2008, the Californian decorator Pam Shamshiri decided to make it her main home and therefore rehabilitated it. She wanted to make it a contemporary house while retaining the vintage Californian spirit. The structured ceiling therefore blends perfectly with the Jean Prouvé chairs or the Piet Hein Eek table. Pam restored the bathroom to some of its original appearance by retaining the plywood, and had a custom cedar tub created by Californian sculptor Alma Allen.
