Urushi lacquer is not just a technique but a true connection between nature and craftsmanship: a resin drawn from the lacquer tree - found mainly in Asia - is applied in multiple layers onto wooden surfaces. This material is deeply rooted in daily life as it protects the wood, makes it waterproof, and shields it from heat.
