This book is the first volume of the catalogue raisonné devoted to the series of Site Sketches, works on paper made from recycled wood scraps by the Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata. This publication brings together more than 300 small conceptual "drawings" made by Tadashi Kawamata over a period of ten years. These mixed collages (paint, pencil, wood and/or metal on paper) express the quintessence of the artist's thinking on places and spaces marked by human presence. Published following the exhibition "Tadashi Kawamata. Site Sketches" at the Mennour gallery, Paris, from November 28, 2019 to January 18, 2020.
