The Kiridashi is the most universal tool in the Japanese workshop. Cutter, slicer, marking knife or wood carving knife, properly sharpened, it meets almost all uses.
Hand-forged by Yoshihide Sakamitsu in Sanjō (one of Japan's major forging centers) from double-layered, high-carbon #2 white steel. Hammered finish Tsuchime is remarkable, each facet of the blade bearing the mark of the blacksmith.
24mm blade, 220mm overall length, 66,5mm cutting edge, 4mm thickness. Brand new, imported directly from Japan.
