These two egg cups showcase two traditional Japanese lacquer techniques. The first employs Tsugaru-Nuri, where lacquer is applied in successive layers and then polished to reveal organic patterns. The second is made using Nanako-Nuri, characterized by the application of tiny beads onto the wet lacquer surface to create a pattern of small craters, which is then covered with a contrasting lacquer and polished. Sold as a set of two.
