The Oire Nomi is a standard wood chisel in Japanese craftsmanship. It is designed for chiseling mortises, adjusting joints, and working precisely in solid wood.

This knife is produced by the Yasaku brand in the city of Miki (the historical capital of Japanese cutlery) in a workshop where three generations work together. It's a premium tool, manufactured in small batches with the care of artisanal production.

The 24mm wide and 220mm long blade is made of hand-forged, double-layered white carbon steel, with a thick layer of hardened steel, a guarantee of quality. The Ura, the characteristic shape on the back of the blade, is perfectly executed. The handle is made of Japanese red oak. The so-called shape mentor, with beveled edges, is a modern interpretation of the traditional chisel.

Fine sharpening and adjustment of the ferrule are necessary before first use. In Japan, it is always up to the buyer to finalize the tool and adapt it to their own hand.
