Wood characteristics: Yellow brown to reddish brown color. Very distinct sapwood. Medium grain. Straight thread.
Mechanical properties: Wood easy to work with little shrinkage. Very resistant to compression, comparable to fir for flexural strength, but lacks impact resistance.
Technological properties: Very easy sawing because the wood is relatively soft. The drying is rapid and does not present any particular difficulties. Gluing can be done easily with all types of glue. Nailing and screwing is not difficult, knowing that cedar wood is soft, but there are some minimal risks of splitting.
